Minimal Street Art goes to Stockholm

IMG_1721
This year´s most awesome street art related trip is over. I had a great time with local street artists that once again took really good care of me. It all started at Momangen, a nice gallery/hangout place for it´s members and others. At Momangen there was a christmas market where artists sold their art for a good price. There I hooked up with Magnus from Gatukonst.se, which is the biggest website for swedish street art. After checking out all the art and chit-chatting for a while we went out to find a spot for my installation.
Earlier Magnus had asked me if I wanted to contribute to their Advent calendar, "kladdventskalendern" which is a street art hunt. The deal is, every day in December new coordinates are posted on the web, then people get to compete who is first to find the installation/piece and send the pics back to kladdventskalendern.se. The winner gets a price.

A dinner later we left for a hip hop party at Cyklopen which was super fun! Good music, good people and a great feeling in the air!

Four friends in high places

IMG_4282John, Bill, Marcus and April are four mountaineers who left their jobs and moved to Janacona only to climb mountains and live their life on the edge.

- Ordinary life was nothing for me, John explains.

During the next five months the mountaineers will arrange courses and hikes up to the mountains for tourists. This project is sponsored by the city and hopefully will bring more visitors to Janacona.

- Anyone can join our hikes and courses. We have courses and hikes for families, children and for the more experienced too, says April and smiles.

The courses are not expensive because we want to inspire more people to start experience the beauty of nature through climbing and hiking, April continues.

No matter if you are young or old, novice or experienced in hiking and climbing, do not miss out on this extra ordinary experience.IMG_4293

Finnish children of war in Sweden

During the second world war 72 000 Finnish children were sent oversea to Finland´s neighbour country Sweden. There the children got foster parents and about 15 000 of the children got adopted and did not return to Finland.

Finland is very thankful and by this monument in Stockholm, Sweden we are remembered of the noble deed the people of Sweden did by fighting on Finland´s side and taking care of the finnish children.
