"I am merely a regular man"

Today we got the honour to meet Janacona´s probably most positve spirited man. He is Josef Michael, a retired man from years of working in the fishing industry. Nowdays he spends his days in his villa  in Sea Port, fishing and spending time with his grand children.

Mr. Michael got famous for his generosity among his workers. He used to see that every man got fish for their families and when he was not busy with administrative work he very often joined the fleet for the fishing trips. This resulted in much respect among his co-workers and the working spirit was generally very good in his company.

But he was not working around the clock. - On my spare time I usually spended time with my family and arranged fundraisers for people in poverty. It is really important that we who can help take our responsibility and do so, says Michael and fold his big arms.

It is truely wonderful that our little city is blessed with fine people like Mr. Michael!
- I am merely a regular man, Michael concludes.

This was the last installation I will make in Vaasa since I will move away in a few weeks. The installation was filmed by a film crew and will be aired not this friday but the next in a culture program called Pixel on Finnish television, channel YleFem. It has been wonderful contributing to the Vaasa street art scene. Hope you liked what I did here! Peace!

Minimal Street Art - Live

As I promised you I would do my next characters on the spot, baking and painting. The main plan was to make them on the streets of Helsinki but that plan did not work out due to the lack of time in Helsinki.
But now I have done it here in Vaasa. It was a very interesting project and I will definitely do it again!

The first characters I made I also filmed. As you maybe can see in the video there was some rain coming down, but that didn´t stop me.

Sun lovers

It was really easy to paint on the soft characters which I earlier had some doubts about.

Sun lovers

The paint did also dry pretty fast so I had no problem painting on the newly painted areas. My only concern was the rain.

And here comes the video of the making and baking. The video is in fast forward and still pretty long. But I hope the sweet soundtrack will keep you watching. It is made by my friend and Dj Paul M.B.

The next characters I made were at a playground inspired by the playground.

I am really inspired to continue making characters live on the streets. It is not as easy as making them at home but it is very fun. And I get so much inspiration from the people I see!

Friendship

With this project I come to the conclusion that I need a smaller brush and a magnifying glass to work on the details. I also think I will use lacquer in the future because the paint does not hold even though I painted the characters with two layers. Once again I had really fun painting and baking. Hope you all like it! Peace and Love!

Without inspiration I would die

My mind is full of inspiration and I find it very important to express that creativity. Today that creativity was expressed by this painting.

Trip back to the beginning

Hahaa!
Before I will show you my newest piece I got sentimental and wanted to take you down with me!
I present to you! My first installation, once again (but now in english)! =)

Here it is!
When I started the project I only knew I wanted to have a party but I did not know where.
Choosing the spot
Then I started to make characters and for some reason the first one became a priest
In the making
When the characters were painted and done It was time to place them out.
I got alot of good ideas from friends that supported me in doing my thing. So thank you! I love you all!
The reason I started making these small characters was mainly because I wanted to decorate the city with them. There is not much street art in Vaasa.
The party is on!
I asked permission from Dj Nautinto if I could use his music for my installation and he instantly loved the idea.  The music can be heard here Dj Nautino´s webpage.
The Dj
Behind the main party was a little chillout room with a screen that showed parkour pictures.
The chillout lounge
Sadly I had to use a flash to get a good picture of the chillout room.
When the event was over I took all the valuables away and left the party like this.
After the big show

Coming up is random pics from the party.

Detta var en liten historia från den minimala verkligheten jag lever i. Jag önskar nu att ni kollar in i Jerry Niemis underbara värld, "I skuggan av ett världsarv" och njuter av de fina bilderna och historierna han visar och berättar för er.
